The purpose of this website is to catalog and share genealogy findings about my Norwegian ancestors. I hope this information will be interesting and helpful to other people. The site is divided into the Tesli lineage in Norway, the Iverson lineage in Norway, the families' emigration to Chicago circa 1880, their life in Brooklyn during the 1890s, their return to Chicago through the early 1900s, and finally their more recent history in Michigan. Most of the research focuses on the biographical details of Iver F. Iverson in the 1890s.
I am deeply indebted to the members of the Norway Heritage Community, http://www.norwayheritage.com, for their incredibly generous and extensive research. These amazing genealogy volunteers found information I thought would be impossible to obtain, particularly the oldest records from Norway. Thank you especially to Kåre Torgersen (Kåarto), Einer (eibache), Jackie (jkmarler), Jan Peter (jwiborg), JaneC, and lyndal40. Thank you also to Tom Standal from the Norwegian Genealogy Facebook page. Many thanks also go to my distant cousin Michael Baird for contributing extensive updates to the Tesli information. Please note that while these individuals deserve great credit, I still must accept responsibility for any errors on my part!
I am especially interested to meet other people with shared ancestry, or those whose ancestors are mentioned in the same newspaper articles. Contact: [email protected].
